Notes
|
This is the very first of what may well become my signature pipe design, the Peapod.
My tastes tend to evolve, but at this stage of the game, I simply can't imagine coming up with a design that better interacts with the grain of a traditional plateaux briar.
The curved flat on the bottom highlights the birdseye, and the sides highlight the meduliary rays, much like a blowfish design does.
And it's so organic. I'm sorry, but I just love the fact that this pipe looks like I could have picked it out of my garden this morning.
And then there's the fact that it's a sitter. That wasn't really one of my original goals, necessarily, but it sure does sit quite nicely, just the same.
So anyway, this particular pipe does have a couple of small pin-size imperfections, but otherwise, briar really doesn't get much better than this.
