This briar had a few
imperfections and one small root inclusion visible in the bottom three
pictures (looks kinda like somebody stamped an "O" on the side of the
bowl). Fortunately this pipe is rather thick in this area, and I
probably could have even worked this inclusion out, except that it
would have messed up the design I was going for. So I opted to do a
light sandblast. This actually worked well, I think. I started seeing
this pipe as a barnacle, and adopted that name for this one. |
